Wednesday Disney Night Recap

Our Wednesday Disney night was a blast! There were some great costumes and many laughs over pop corn, candy, hot chocolate, and Finding Nemo! Kristin won our costume contest with an excellent Mini Mouse get up. We leave for disneyland this Saturday! We still have a few spots available, but act quickly as they are sure to fill up quick. Cost is $60 and students are responsible for their own meals and souvenirs. We will meet at the church at 8am and return by 10pm. Please email steven to sign up!

Wednesday Night Recap and Disneyland Week

Tonight was a wonderful night of worship, reflection on God's word, artistic expression, and encouraging words from an old friend. Leo Rapini stopped by to say hello and share what God has been teaching him in Santa Ana over the last few months. He shared his experiences in working with the homeless and told us the story of some of his colleagues who spent three days living with a homeless woman they had befriended. After the three days his colleagues explained that the hardest part of the experience was not what one would expect. While the discomfort of living without a home, money, or food is stressful it was the neglect that was the most painful. Having people completely ignore you was the most dehumanizing part of the process.

After Leo shared we studied Psalm 139. We each individually read the chapter and reflected on how God never neglects, ignores, or looks past us. We then spent some time in prayer and students were able to express what they had learned from Psalm 139 through painting.

Next Wednesday is an extra special night! In honor of our upcoming disneyland trip on Saturday February 20, we will be holding disney night and you can determine the outcome of the night. Comment on this post with your favorite disney movie and the movie with the most votes will be played on Wednesday. But wait there is more! Come dressed as your favorite disney character! There will be prizes for best costume!

Frenetic February

We have a busy month this February. Starting Sunday February 7 we will begin our Sunday morning Collide Study! We will be going through Creative Times with God: Discovering New Ways to Connect with the SAVIOR. We will meet in the JR High room on Sundays from 9am-10am. Cost of the book is $10 (even if you can't make Collide this is a great book to have!)
This session will be a little different then the last. Our previous study through Case for Christ really pushed students to analyze the facts and information about Jesus. This study will focus on what Jesus has taught them and what they are learning from scripture. Hope you can join us for this awesome time of prayer, community, fellowship, and study of God's word!

On Monday February 8 we will be handing out care kits to the homeless at the Salvation Army. Back in October we raised almost $700 at our Bake Sale and now we are finally using that money to make an IMPACT! Meet at the church at 5:15 and we will drive down to the salvation army together. We will return to the church by 8:30 please email me to sign up as we have a limited number of seats available!


Last, but certainly not least is our annual Disneyland Trip on Saturday February 20! We hope you can join us for this amazing full day of fun and fellowship! Cost is $60.
